Prices
We reserve the right to change prices without notice. Prices quoted in proforma invoices are firm for 30 days from date of invoice. Prices quoted by phone are guaranteed ONLY when a firm order is charged against a credit card at the time of the call.

Discount
There is a 10% discount on credit card and cheque orders placed through our web sites (www.compmech.com or www.witpress.com).

Credit
Orders for published titles are accepted on a prepaid basis only. Payment must be made in US currency, payable through a US bank, or via an international money order. Credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, or American Express) are accepted in lieu of cash prepayment.

Forthcoming Books
Forthcoming books may be ordered at any time in advance of publication. Credit card orders will be billed and shipped immediately on publication. If prepayment has not yet been received, a new invoice will be issued when the title had been published and shipment will be made on receipt of prepayment. Publication dates, prices (when given), number of pages, and contents are tentative and subject to change without notice.

Cancellations
Accepted only on titles not available for shipment within 30 days of receipt of order.

Returns
CMI will not accept any return in excess of 20% of the original order or any return of backlist titles imported especially for a specific order. All returns must be authorized in writing by the Book Sales Department, within 60 days of invoice date; a copy of the original invoice must accompany the return request. Returns are accepted for credit only. Credit is issued only after books have been received by us and determined to be in fresh, saleable condition. No credit will be issued on books not received by us, received in damaged condition, or out of print. Loss of or damage to return shipments is the responsibility of the sender. You may wish to insure your return shipment against such loss.

Claims
Inquiries and requests regarding short shipments and damaged books must be made to CMI within two (2) months of the date on the packing slip of the shipment (or the date on the UPS record, whichever is later) or no credit will be given. All claims should be accompanied by a copy of the invoice. When claiming damage in transit, retain the original packing for inspection by the carrier; if the carrier refuses to cover the damage because the packaging has not been available for inspection, credit will not be issued.

Refunds
Refunds will be made only on cancelled prepaid orders for items not available for shipment within 30 days of receipt of the order. No refunds will be made on correctly processed shipments returned at customer’s discretion.

Transportation
Shipping/handling fee of $7 per book (US), or $9 per book (Canada) or $13 per book (Mexico) is added to charges for each shipment via regular UPS (US) or regular surface mail (Canada and Mexico), up to a maximum charge of $50 per order.

Liability for goods lost or damaged in transit
Computational Mechanics will make every effort to pack shipments securely. However, CMI takes no responsibility for goods shipped F.O.B. our warehouse which are lost or damaged in transit. To guard against losses, we recommend that customers insure shipments. We will gladly assist in obtaining such insurance when requested.
